I've always disagreed with their usage in paranormal investigating. There is no way to prove that any spirits disturb the EM Field not to mention they are easily set off by everything around you.. plus when you are focused on a meter shouting off readings, you take away one of your best pieces of investigating equipment... your attention.

Just remember EMF meters, as well as other types of equipment were designed for other primary functions, not as ghost hunting equipment.  I try to use my EMF meter as it was designed, to find EM fields (man made ) which may explain some alleged paranormal activity.  At  this point in time there is NO doccumentable, repeatable proof the spirits generate or interfere with EM fields.   A lot more study in the field is need before any conclusions can really be drawn.

Agreed... I'm getting tired of the "EMF is a 'ghost detector' " mentality.

yup. I agree! I use mine for what I've always used it for, alerting me of high levels of emi. It'll always be an electrical surveyor's friend, and helpful for determining if people are being affected by the more natural causes than super natural.

Yeah. I felt bad. You seemed really sick. You were sure shaking up the spirits though! ;)

Well, sitting down there right near Thumper didn't do me any good.   I felt a little nausiated and drained of a lot of energy.  I still felt bad the next day.   Just a reminder to stay away from strong EM fields.  I know at the surface of the transducers it puts out OVER 2000 mGauss.  I'm going to have to fire up thumper and do some field strength measurements around the transducers to get a better idea of what I'm dealing with.
