This is a topic that I'm certain a vast majority of people have not heard about. The "nine knocks" phenomenon. I myself have experienced this twice and have a friend who has also experienced this. Let me explain it first.

What you hear is a series of three sets of three knocks. I have heard various theories on this... I have heard it associated with demonic activity and I have heard it associated with alien abduction. (On a humor note, it can also be associated with a pizza delivery guy at the door.. hahah.) The knocks tend to come on the wall directly behind your head while you're in bed from what I understand.

The last time I experienced this I had just lied down in bed and drifted off to sleep... I was not in a deep sleep. I heard the first set of knocks and it startled me into waking up. I thought someone was knocking at our front door. I lied there and thought that I must've been dreaming, then heard the second set, that was when it dawned on me that the knocks were coming from behind my head on the wall and not the door... the outside of that wall is solid brick and it was roughly 2am on a weeknight. I was still somewhat in awe at what happened when the third set of knocks sounded. At this point, I was a little shook up but I am completely unclear as to what happened after that, I believe I just went back to sleep. The next day was interesting as I spent most of the day trying to wrap my head around what had happened and tried to figure out logical explainations for the event... to which I drew no conclusions. These were not light knocks... these resembled someone pounding on your door. I have not experienced it since and still have no further information regarding the phenomenon.
